Create or Edit a Profile

Creating and editing profiles involve the third step to be carried out in BRM. After you created the transactions and the products, you must define the profiles to classify the app users.

In each profile, you must configure allowed and disallowed transactions. Therefore, BRM will approve or reject the transactions made by the app user, with a specific profile configuration.

To define whether you need to create new profiles or use existing or imported ones, refer to the list of profiles and their details.

Create a Profile

Create a new profile if no profiles were created in your environment or the existing ones do not meet your requirements. For example, if the existing profiles meet your requirements but you need to add new allowed transactions to them without affecting other profile configurations. The instructions below explain how to create a profile. All fields are mandatory.

  1. Click + Create Profile to open the Create Profile form.

  2. Include at least one transaction in the Allowed Transactions or Disallowed Transactions sections.

  3. In the Description field, enter a text to explain the characteristics of the profile or help your team understand why you created it.

  4. In the Category field, enter a category to classify the profile. You can enter an already created category or enter a new one. For example, if your client provides services for app users under individual and corporate profiles, you can create two new categories: Individuals and Companies.

  5. Configure the transactions that will be allowed or disallowed for the profile in the Allowed Transactions and Disallowed Transactions sections, respectively.

First, you must find the transactions you need. To do so, you can either go through the list of transactions in the Disallowed Transactions section or use the search bar and type the transaction name or the transaction group in which it was included when it was created. Then, you must determine whether you want to enable or leave them disabled for the profile. Read the Allowed Transactions and Disallowed Transactions sections to learn more.

    Important

By default, all transactions appear in the Disallowed Transactions section. The transactions that you don't move to the Allowed Transactions section will remain disabled for the app user operating under that profile.

  6. Leave the Profile Enabled toggle switch on to allow the profile to operate and perform any allowed transactions. If you need to prevent the app users under that profile from being able to executing transactions, click the toggle switch to turn it off.

When should you disable a profile?

    • When you are creating a new profile, but you want to determine that the app user under that profile is allowed to operate as of a certain date (different than the date on which the profile was created).

    • If the profile has been created by you or another user and is currently enabled but you determine that the profile should not be allowed to operate for a certain period based on the client's requirements—for example, due to business needs or app security reasons.

For example: your client may ask you to create the new Platinum profile and allow transactions to make transfers to own and third-party accounts, but informs you that the new profile should be available from March 1st 2024 onwards. In that case, you can create the Platinum profile and configure the allowed transactions but you turn the Enabled toggle switch off and won't enable it until March 1st 2024.

  7. Click Create. To cancel changes, click Close.

  8. Once you save the new profile, you are redirected to the Profiles page and a pop-up message confirms that the profile was successfully updated.

Important

To be able to create a profile or save changes made to an existing one, you must include at least one transaction in the Allowed Transactions list.

Edit a Profile

Edit the details of a profile if you can use an existing or imported profile but you need to make changes to its configuration. Refer to the instructions below to learn how to edit a profile.

  1. Find the profile in the profiles list. You can narrow down the list of profiles using the search bar and filters available.

  2. Click the vertical three-dot icon to the right of the profile and click Edit to open the Update Profile panel.

  3. Make any changes you need to any of the fields described in the Create a Profile section.

  4. Click Save to save your changes. To cancel changes, click Close.

  5. Once you save the changes made, you are redirected to the Profiles page and a pop-up message confirms that the profile was successfully updated.

Once you created the profile or profiles required, or made the changes you needed, you are ready to configure the business rule or rules that contain the parameters under which the transactions will be rejected or approved.Rules
