Rollbacks

In the Rollbacks page, you can revert a promotion so that a specific project goes back to the status it had before it was promoted.

You can only revert the last successful promotion of a project. Note that you can revert the promotion of each product and configuration type combination within each product.

Important

Executed rollbacks cannot be reverted.

All the rollbacks executed, either successfully or not, are listed in the Rollbacks page. Refer to the annotated image below to learn more.

  1. Search bars and Status filter. To find a promotion rollback, click any of the search bars and type the source environment name, the target environment name or the user requesting the promotion, accordingly. To narrow down the list of promotion rollbacks by status, click the arrow in the Status filter and select an option from the drop-down menu: Success, On going, Failed, Dead. To clear all the results from the search and see the full list of rollbacks, click Clear all.

  2. List of executed rollbacks. Refer to the table below to learn more.

    Status

Current status of the rollback. Refer to the table below to learn more about each status available.

    Success

Indicates that the rollback was successfully executed in the background (green-colored label).

    On going

Indicates that the rollback is running in the background. This status only appears from the moment the promotion is requested until the final results are obtained (blue-colored label).

    Failed

Indicates that the rollback could not be successfully executed due to an unexpected condition (red-colored label). A rollback may fail, for example, if the product or the configuration does not exist in the target environment.

    Dead

Indicates that, after a certain period of time, the rollback process ended up abruptly (red-colored label).

    Note

The maximum time for a rollback's status to go from On going to Success or Failed is two hours. After that period, the status will be Dead.

You are redirected to the rollback's details page, where you can see the rollback's basic information and the reverted promotion's details regarding the release configuration, business parameters, institution transactions, transaction response codes and host response mappings. View Rollback Details

To see the details on the rollback of a project promotion, navigate through the list of rollbacks to find the desired rollback, click the vertical three-dot icon to the right and then click View details.

The Rollback detail page opens, where you can see the basic information about the rollback of the promotion previously executed, and the details on each element of the project promoted, including its release configuration, business parameters, institution transactions, transaction response codes and host response mappings. Each of these elements also shows a status label and, if the promotion did not succeed, a detail of the error that caused the process to stop.

In the Basic Info section, you can see the main details on the rollback of the project promotion. It includes information about the promotion's source and target environments, the configuration type and the product involved. You can also see the details on the status of the promotion's rollback, the start and end times, and the time elapsed from the moment the rollback was requested until the final results were obtained—if the promotion rollback is still in process, or was either successful or failed.

The Release Configuration, Business Parameters, Institution Transactions, Transaction Response Codes and Host Response Mappings sections contain the same information included in the Promotion Details page. To learn more, read Promotions.
