Domains

Domains are grouping mechanisms that allow you to create sets of rules that operate under specific conditions. They are created whenever you want to define specific conditions for the predefined rules that are applied to the authentication process in an app. Therefore, once the domain is associated to an app and is activated, the authentication rules it contains are applied to that app.

Each domain is associated to a product, which is in turn associated to an app. Therefore, rules associated to a specific domain are applied to a specific app.

By default, the AS has a domain installed (Domain 0), which contains pre-configured sets of rules. Changes to rules in Domain 0 affect all domains associated to it. This means that, if you make changes to a rule associated to the Domain 0, those changes will also impact on the rule values of the domain that inherited the Domain 0's rules.

Tip

The default domain is identified in the domains list with a 0 at the beginning of its name.

In the Domains page (Configuration > Domains), you can see the list of created domains and edit them or create a new domain to then make changes to the rules associated to that domain. Refer to the table below to learn more.
