Create or Edit a Product
Important
Only the project leaders can create or edit a product. If you don’t have the permissions, you won't have these options available. Contact the Mobile Builder team for assistance.
Create a Product
To create a product, go to the Products page. Then, follow the instructions described below.
Click + Create. The Add Product modal opens.
In the Name field, enter a two-character unique name to identify the product. Characters must be in lowercase. For this example, enter p2.
Important
The name of the product selected for an app in Mobile Builder must match with that of Middleware, for the app to recognize the connection and communications between the device and the Platform's middleware.
In the Description field, enter meaningful information about the product's purpose. For this example, enter the client's full name and the config type: GoldBank - S.
In the Config Type field, enter the configuration type for that product. Configuration types are created in Middleware. Refer to the configurations list in Configuration Management to learn more. For this example, enter s.
In the Client Code field, enter the four-character code that identifies the client in Workspace. For this example, enter gdbk.
In the Client field, select the client for which the app is created from the drop-down menu. For this example, select MVP Integration Tenant.
In the Model field, enter the device model to which the product applies (max. 8 characters). The model name should be structured as follows: "SMART" + config type (letter from A to Z) + two underscores to complete the eight characters. For this example, enter: smarts__.
Once you have completed all the necessary fields, click Create to finish the creation process. You are redirected to the Products page, and a message appears confirming that the product was successfully created.
Edit a Product
To edit an existing product, find the desired product in the list and click Edit (
). The Edit product modal opens, where you can edit the parameters configured during the creation process or add new ones. Once you have edited all the necessary fields, click Save to implement the changes. You are redirected to the Products page, and a message appears confirming that the product was successfully updated.
